Solar UV Data Network
Spectral UV Database -- Data Processing
Data Processing Methods
DATAFLOW is a software program to facilitate the management and quality control of data collected on the SR18 channel radiometer installed on the Solar UV Network. The software provides several advantages over previous, less automated methods:
- It provides a streamlined method to transform raw 1 minute voltages to 12 minute average intensities.
- It yields a consistent method for performing quality control checks on radiometer data -- consistent over time and between sampling stations.
- It reports 12 minute values based on the best available calibration constants, so "provisional" data sets can be generated.
- It automatically handles time variant shifts in calibration constants - so called "ramps" and "steps."
Upon completion of the DATAFLOW processing, the data files are processed to produce monthly, daily, and hourly statistical data, formated and loaded into tables for Internet access.
The figure below shows the processing steps for the SR18 data.
